During private charters, some passengers choose to fish independently for species such as cod and pollock, which are commonly found on offshore wrecks between early spring and mid‑summer. These areas can lie 10–40 miles offshore and vary in depth and structure.
Passengers who intend to fish often bring equipment suited to deeper water, including medium‑weight rods, multiplier reels and braided lines. Many also choose to research seasonal patterns and preferred methods for these species,
such as the use of lures or jigs, depending on tide and conditions.
Because tackle choice is highly individual and depends on personal preference, there is no single recommended setup. Passengers are welcome to discuss their intended plans when booking so we can confirm whether their chosen equipment is suitable for the areas we expect to visit. Basic tackle is available on board for purchase if required.
Fishing during the charter is entirely optional and is undertaken independently by passengers. Our primary role is the safe navigation and operation of the vessel while transporting passengers to offshore locations
